Why Is IPL?
Intense Pulsed Light is a progressive treatment that corrects pigmented skin cells, veins and rosacea. The procedure used scattered light energy with a broad wave spectrum and large scanning devices without disrupting the skin's surface.*
How Does IPL Work?
The procedure begins by heating the top layer of the skin where the damage skin cells are located. The heat will begin to get absorbed by the pigmented skin cells until the point of coagulation. The surrounding cells will not be harmed during the process, the precision of the laser only targets pigmented cells. Fine vessels can also be treated, the process causes a reduction in the redness and unwanted melanin of the skin, helping to bring the skin back to its natural state.*
Does The Treatment Have Any Downtime?
Phototherapy is a noninvasive procedure that requires no downtime. You can apply makeup after the treatment and return to your daily routine.*
What Skin Types Can Be Treated?
IPL is ideal when there is more contrast between the base skin color and the target color. For example, a dark spot on fair skin will be easier to treat because there is a greater color contrast between the skin and the spot. However, darker skin types III and IV can be treated safely and effectively with IPL by an experienced skin professional such as the team at Thrive Med Spa. We will take a thorough skin history and be able to identify any risks to avoid any potential chance of injury.*
What Areas Can Be Treated With IPL?
All areas of your body can be treated. The most common areas include the face, neck, chest, and hands.*
